Successful Integration of Enterprise Applications
Enterprise Applications are
designed to integrate computer systems that run all phases of a companies operations to facilitate cooperation and coordination of work across the
enterprise. The intent is to integrate core business processes such as finance,
human resources, sales, manufacturing and stock.
3 Companies that have succeeded
in the integration of enterprise applications are:
1. Amazon
Amazon uses SAP (Systems Analysis and Programme Development) as its ERP system as the company focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence. Amazon could not meet its long-term goals with their system and in 2008 decided to establish SAP. Sellers ensure consistency in their operations with the help of ERP systems.
The benefits of SAP for Amazon include efficient
and effective management of their stores and high-volume complex operations,
better customer service, enhanced reporting and planning, and improved
visibility.
2. Toyota
Microsoft Dynamics 365 helps
manage their after-sales service skills and operations for distributors
offering services to their products. It also analyses and predicts their demand.
These features have all contributed into the success of Toyota.
3. Starbucks
Starbucks is a multinational chain of coffeehouses. It concentrates on providing premium customer service, high quality coffee and a welcoming atmosphere.
In their operations, they use Oracle ERP. This is a cloud-based software system that automates back-office tasks and day to day business operations. Oracle ERP allows Starbucks to view all areas of their business, display revenue analytics, and provide quick access to information relating to revenue, business expenses and sales.
As you can see, there are many benefits to implementing enterprise applications.
